The newest mid-ranger from Realme to be released in India is the Realme 12 Pro (Review). That being said, it joined the party when there were a lot of other options available. In addition, Poco and Xiaomi released new phones in January of this year that have features comparable to or superior to those of the Realme 12 Pro. Xiaomi debuted the Redmi Note 13 Pro lineup, while Poco introduced the Poco X6 series. To determine which is superior, we will now compare the Poco X6 Pro (review) and the Realme 12 Pro 5G.
Realme 12 Pro vs Poco X6 Pro price in India
There are two models of the Realme 12 Pro available in India. Pricing-wise, the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant costs Rs. 25,999, while the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage version costs Rs. 26,999.
In the meantime, the Poco X6 Pro’s 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model starts at Rs. 26,999. But the Poco also comes with a 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant that will set you back Rs. 28,999.
Given that the base model of the Poco X6 Pro comes with twice as much storage as the other, it already appears like a better value. Furthermore, lacking in the Realme 12 Pro is expandable storage. Many customers in 2024 will choose a base model with at least 256GB of storage, especially if there isn’t any extendable storage.
Realme 12 Pro vs Poco X6 Pro design and display
I won’t spend much time here telling you which one performs better in terms of design. Thanks to its exquisite vegan leather rear panel and its opulent watch-inspired camera module, the Realme 12 Pro is the clear victor. Though it’s not as ugly as the Realme phone, the Poco X6 Pro’s design is nevertheless decent. Even though the back panel and frame of both phones are made of plastic, they certainly appear more expensive than they actually are as individuals.

Because of its dual-curved form, the Realme 12 Pro is also more comfortable to grasp in the hand. I can’t say the same with the Poco phone, but the phone’s vegan leather finish helps repel fingerprints and smudges. Once more, the Poco X6 Pro isn’t horrible, but to be honest, I like the Poco’s flat display.
This is when the tables turn when it comes to the display. The Poco X6 Pro boasts a superior display with increased brightness and sharpness. With a 1.200 nit high brightness option, 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and a 6.67-inch AMOLED flat panel, it boasts 1.5K resolution. Furthermore, safeguarding the screen is Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5.
While the Realme 12 Pro has a larger 6.7-inch AMOLED display, it also supports HDR10 and has full-HD+ resolution, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a 500 nits high brightness mode. Although the Realme 12 Pro lacks Gorilla Glass protection, the manufacturer states that the phone has double-reinforced glass covering the screen, which is 0.55 mm thick.

Realme 12 Pro vs Poco X6 Pro performance and software
The Realme 12 Pro is equipped with a 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC and comes pre-installed with Realme UI 5.0, which is based on Android 14. It can have up to 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM. The phone isn’t a performance beast, but it does rather well with daily tasks. It is possible to play games on your phone, but not at the best settings, and extended gaming sessions will cause some slowness. The phone receives 5,90,047 points on AnTuTu when the performance setting is enabled. You can also add up to 8GB of VRAM by utilizing the dynamic RAM function.

There is a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra SoC in the Poco X6 Pro.
In contrast, the Poco X6 Pro offers great value in terms of cost and functionality. The MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra SoC, which has 512GB of storage and up to 12GB of RAM, powers it. HyperOS, based on Android 14, is installed on the phone by default. AnTuTu gave the phone a score of 14,37,717, about twice as high as the Realme phone. You can experience this when you use your phone for everyday tasks and games. It operates far more quickly and smoothly than the Realme phone.
In addition, both phones have a USB Type-C port, dual stereo speakers, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. But the Poco X6 Pro also has an infrared blaster, and its speakers have a little bit more bass and are louder.

Now, for the software: both phones have UIs based on Android 14, although a lot of junk is included. Both the Realme 12 Pro and the Poco X6 Pro provide a plethora of customization choices. Software upgrades are provided for two years on the former and for three years on the latter.
Realme 12 Pro vs Poco X6 Pro cameras
Cameras are an important part of smartphones, and for some, they’re the most important. With the Realme 12 Pro, you get a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 primary sensor, a 32-megapixel Sony IMX702 telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor.
The Poco X6 Pro also gets a triple rear camera setup, but the hardware isn’t as impressive. There’s a primary 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B rear camera with OIS, an 8-megapixel OmniVision OV08D ultrawide unit, and a third 2-megapixel Macro sensor that could’ve been omitted.

In daylight, the main cameras on both phones produce similar results; however, the Poco X6 Pro did better in low light. The Realme 12 Pro has a dedicated telephoto sensor. Therefore, 2x shots and portrait photos are better here. Finally, the ultrawide performs better and has a wider field of view on the Poco X6 Pro. Realme 12 Pro vs Poco X6 Pro battery
The 5,000mAh battery of the Realme 12 Pro and Poco X6 Pro is accompanied by a 67W fast charger. The Realme took only about 43 minutes to fully charge, while the Poco required approximately 47 minutes to fully charge from 6 to 100%.
Realme 12 Pro vs Poco X6 Pro verdict
The Realme 12 Pro has a more adaptable camera configuration and a stylish design. Although the Poco X6 Pro offers a specialized telephoto camera with a 2x optical zoom and a better, more original design, you’ll receive a lot more value for your money. An improved screen, twice the power, extended software compatibility, and a sufficient camera arrangement.
If I were you, I would buy the Poco X6 Pro for Rs. 26,999.
